ADVOCATE TESTIMONIALS

“I came into this business and was surprised when I got into it because I didn’t know what it was all about. I then found out how desperate of an issue long term care really is and how many people get affected by it, not to mention the depth that it affects people. It became more of a passion to try and help as many people as I could. I have been through so many times where long term care has devastated somebody. It financially wrecks the spouse; male or female, it doesn’t make a difference. It depletes the funds and trashes the family. If you are not afraid that this could happen to you, you are just kidding yourself. I am too old to be doing this, but the real reason that I am in the business is to help people and that is from two fronts: protect their funds and to help them get long term care protection. I refused to marry my wife until she bought a policy because I don’t want to be her sole caregiver.”

“Out of my four grandparents, three of them needed care and some need care for years. I saw the affect it had on my parents. It was financially devastating and even more demanding on the family to participate in the activities because someone always had to be helping the grandparents. Both of my parents eventually needed long term care help. After being cared for 8 years in the home, my mother had to go to a facility and then my father went into care and it devastated them financially. One of my policyholders died and the surviving spouse married a few years later and the prenuptial agreement specified that his new spouse had to have a long term care policy. After what I witnessed my parents, I knew I wanted to help others avoid this kind of disaster. Now that I am helping more policyholders with their policies, I am even more convinced of why I am in this business.”

“I got into the business because I was looking for an area where I could get into the sales and help people. I thought that this business could do that and it was everything and more than I wanted it to be. I believe I was looking for a business that spent less time servicing clients and more time helping them get protection that would help make them safe. I now do a lot more servicing work than when I first started in the business, but that is why I did the work so people would have the coverage to use in the future.”

“I honestly feel that my God given purpose for whatever reason is to save lives and you do it in different ways, at different times. I saved lives in the operating room, on call and in the middle of the night for years and then when I got into this business, I was able to tell people that I’m was still saving lives, not physically so much, but more financially. I am still saving lives. I think that is what I am supposed to be doing with my life. The satisfaction comes when you are able to deliver a claim because you know they are going to be taken care of. It made families okay instead of devastated having these policies to use.”

“I feel that it is about living a life of significance and making a difference. I look forward to servicing people. I am dealing with a lot of clients these days that are opening claims. I know that this is about touching lives and making a difference. I have had a lot of clients use their policies despite their best efforts to avoid doing so. If there was a 100% chance that you were going to need long term care, we would not be having this conversation. More often than not, the impact that long term care has on your family is devastating both physically and financially. That is why I do what I do. With today’s modern medicine, people are living longer and as we age we just don’t stay health, despite our best efforts, and the for the most part, we are not just going to keel over dead. The challenge to all of this is denial. I will continue doing this business until there comes a day that I can’t and don’t know how far removed that is. This business is truly about touching lives and I have story after story because I have been doing this for decades. It is a challenging business, but a very rewarding business. Everybody can benefit from this business.”

“I had a friend and when she was 26 she had to be put into a facility because her mother could not take care of her anymore. She would go onto Medicaid and that is basically why I decided I wanted a policy. With my father’s work in the church, we would go and visit various facilities and personally I knew that I did not want to end up in a facility. My husband is 15 years older than I am and I want to make sure that in the event something happened to him, he would have access to quality care, so it didn’t fall solely on me to take care of him. Being in the insurance business for over two decades, I have seen a lot of the business and how clients have been affected and with personal experience with my grandparents and my mother. To me, it is more of a personal conviction because I have seen it firsthand. I have felt it personally with an injury and I know how devastating it can be if you don’t financially protect yourself.”

“After talking with an acquaintance and helping my wife and I get coverage, I was so impressed with his professionalism, I asked him what I need to do in order to do what he did for my wife and I. He said to get my insurance license and get trained in the business. Ever since, I have enjoyed helping people understand the importance of this protection. I have been asked if I have been a teacher numerous times because people have found me to be very understandable when explaining long term care to them.”

“I just like to help make lives better and give them peace of mind by removing some of the burden and stress that death, disability, and or long term care can have on them.”

“I got into this business because I wanted to help people and make a difference. I have helped a lot of people open claims and I have seen the relief in a spouse when they know their love one is going to be taken care of. I truly believe in this business.”

“My parents had over a 50 acre farm and my mother had a stroke and my father had to take care of her for 6 years and they did not have long term care insurance. I wasn’t able to help them much because I had a family of my own to watch over. I was trying to make a living for my family, so I didn’t have a lot of time to help my parents. My mother ended up on Medicaid and they took the farm as a result. My father always said that he wanted to die behind the wheel of a John Deere tractor and he now lives in a mobile home with dementia and will not get that chance. Because of this experience, I decided to become an expert in long term care and make this my career. When I found this career, I found my purpose. Helping people get on claim is very gratifying for me. My clients are my friends and they know that I am there for them and that means a lot to me.”

“After watching my dad do this business and how he was able to help others and provide comfortably for me and our family growing up, I thought I would try my hand in it. I just care about people and l like to help people. My degree is in special education, so I have worked with both children and adults needing care. My husband and I are savers and we like having a plan for the future. I am not old enough to have long term care insurance, but I really believe in planning and saving and I want others who have worked hard for their money to have the necessary protection to make sure their savings will be there.”

“You have to know why you get out of bed in the morning. To me, the centerpiece is trying to get in touch with as many people as I can and let them know what I am doing. I focus my time and energy helping people decipher what is real and what is the reality and what will most likely happen to them. I made the decision in the financial planning wheel house to focus on income preservation. It is the center of all planning even though it is not taught that way. The core and the focus should be on the family and preserving the family. My family and friends are what keeps my fire burning for this business in watching what has happened and what is happening to them. I have to keep doing this because there are not a lot of people doing it. I am reminded every day why I do this. I don’t have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.”

“It all started when I was a child and my mother had a stroke when I was 6 months old. I had other family members take care of me. Later when I was older, my own children had medical issues where my family had to chip in and help. I have had many family members with a variety of medical issues that required care during most of my adult life. My family has had to band together to take care of each other. I have had occasions of visiting family members in facilities. I came into this business and it has meant the world to me seeing that family members don’t have to be sole caregivers for their own family. Instead, they are able to enjoy their families and their family members still receive the care they need.”
